A concrete road caved in near RNA Builder’s project site in Indralok, Bhayandar East, during piling work for a new building, leading to a fine of Rs 46.5 lakh.
The Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation (MBMC) imposed the fine on the real estate developer for negligence that led to the road collapse.
The total estimated damage from the road collapse is over Rs 4 crore, and the fine accounts for 10% of this loss.
MBMC has ordered the developer to deposit the penalty amount, prepare a new work plan approved by IIT or VJTI, and complete the road reconstruction under MMRDA’s supervision within five months.
Deepak Bagri, the Social Media head, expressed dissatisfaction with the lack of accountability and the need for a criminal case to be registered against the builder for negligence.
