Sayba Spaces Wins Top Bid for Mumbai's Taximen's Colony Redevelopment

Sayba Spaces, a prominent real estate developer, has secured the top bid for the redevelopment of the Bombay Taximen's Colony in Kurla, West. The company claims it won the bid based on merit, fulfilling the highest number of legal, financial, and technical criteria set by the Bombay Taximen's Cooperative Society.

The colony, located on LBS Marg, Kurla, spans 8.5 acres and comprises 29 buildings with 656 flats and 30 shops. Several real estate giants had shown interest in this prime property, but Sayba Spaces stood out with its comprehensive and unconditional bid.

A spokesperson for Sayba Spaces emphasized that their bid was the most comprehensive and unconditional. They offered 36 months' rent in one cheque upon vacating the flats, while other bidders only offered 12 months. Additionally, Sayba Spaces promised a 102% increase in the free additional area and a construction period of 36 months. The company also agreed to split the apartments according to the flat owners' requests, further enhancing the appeal of their proposal.

The Bombay Taximen's Cooperative Society has scheduled a special general body meeting on Sunday to ratify the managing committee's decision to entrust the redevelopment project to Sayba Spaces. This meeting is crucial for the project's progression, as it will provide a formal endorsement from the residents.

Sayba Spaces is no stranger to the real estate market. The company has been active for the past 15 years, completing 28 projects and delivering 3,600 homes with a total built-up area of 3.85 million square feet.
