Sonu Nigam's Father Agam Kumar Acquires Rs 10 Crore Property in Mumbai's Madh Island
The Nigam family has expanded its real estate portfolio in Mumbai with a notable purchase. Singer Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam, recently bought a property featuring an existing structure in Madh Island for Rs 10 crore, according to details from property documents reviewed by Liases Foras.
The transaction includes a 1,197-square-metre plot featuring a ground-plus-one-floor residential and commercial building named Mango Villa. Situated within the Suchak Cooperative Housing Society Limited in Madh Island, the property comprises a built-up area consisting of a 2,329 sq ft two-level IT structure and an additional 725 sq ft residential unit.
The deal was formally registered on February 18, 2026, with a stamp duty payment of Rs 50 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000. The property was acquired from Swapna Kak and Rani Doshi (Verma), also known as Rani Amar Verma. Efforts to contact Agam Nigam and the sellers for comments did not yield a response.
Besides being recognised as singer Sonu Nigam’s father, Agam Kumar Nigam is a singer and stage performer in his own right. He has been a part of numerous cultural programmes and live shows over the years and played a significant role in nurturing his son’s early musical career. Sonu Nigam, too, has been active in Mumbai’s property scene. In 2024, he purchased a commercial space in Andheri worth Rs 7 crore, and in 2025, he leased a property in Santacruz East for five years, with the total rent amounting to over Rs 12.61 crore.
Located in Malad and near Versova, Madh Island has grown into a desirable residential destination in recent years. The broader Versova-Andheri area has attracted several film and television celebrities, including Kartik Aaryan, Ronit Roy, Vivek Agnihotri, Sanjay Mishra, and Ayushmann Khurrana. Actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi also own a bungalow in Madh Island. The area's serene environment and proximity to the city make it a popular choice for those in the entertainment industry.
