Technical Glitch Halts Property and Land Registration in Telangana
Real Estate Mumbai:A sudden technical glitch in the Unique Identification Authority of India's (UIDAI) network brought property and land registration to a standstill in Telangana on Thursday. The Aadhaar online services suspension had a ripple effect on Aadhaar-based OTP services and registrations, subsequently crippling the property and land registration services in the state. As biometric Aadhaar authentication is mandatory for registrations, the registration services were forced to come to a grinding halt. The Registration and Stamps Department acknowledged the inconvenience caused to the public, attributing the issue to fluctuations in the UIDAI network.

In response to the crisis, the Chief Minister's Office assured that the registration services would resume by Friday. Meanwhile, Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy convened a review meeting with revenue-generating departments at the state Secretariat to discuss ways to boost revenue generation. The meeting was attended by prominent officials, including Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Revenue Minister P. Srinivas Reddy, and Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, among others.

The meeting focused on revenue generation from various departments, such as Finance, Commercial Taxes, Prohibition & Excise, Registration, and Mines & Geology. The state government is working towards resolving the technical issues and restoring normalcy to the property and land registration services in the state.
