Vayuveg Patrol Team 4 is a specialized team under the RTO (Regional Transport Office) that conducts night patrols to ensure road safety and respond to emergencies on the Mumbai-Pune National Highway.
The accident occurred at Kane Phata around 12:15 a.m. on May 11, 2025.
The victim was 29-year-old Akshay Shankar Tikone from Patan, Lonavala.
The team immediately called for an ambulance, which arrived within five minutes. They also ensured traffic clearance and informed the police for further investigation.
After initial treatment at Mahavir Hospital, Akshay was shifted to Haranshwar Hospital in Talegaon Dabhade for multiple surgeries. His condition is now stable and improving.
