According to police reports, Rohan was playing cricket with his friends near the canal when the ball accidentally fell into the water. Two of the boys entered the canal to retrieve it, but the strong water current began sweeping them away. One of the boys who remained onshore started shouting for help.

Prajwal Deepak Jamvjal, a passerby, heard the cries and bravely jumped into the canal, managing to rescue one of the drowning boys. Unfortunately, by then, Rohan had already been swept away.

The police promptly informed the Fire Brigade, who arrived at the accident site shortly after. Navale Fire Brigade Center chief Prakash Gore, along with drivers Bala Pangare, Kailas Akhade, Balaji Akhade, Sanket Gurav, Rajendra Bhilare, and PMRDA personnel, made extensive efforts to locate the missing boy by throwing ropes into the canal and searching underwater.

Despite their efforts, Rohan's body had not been found by evening. The incident has sent shockwaves in the community, and the police have registered a case of sudden death at the Sinhagad Road Police Station.

The incident highlights the importance of safety measures near water bodies, especially during the monsoon season. The authorities must take necessary steps to prevent such incidents in the future.
