A 28-year-old man named Punit Singh Majra died after the BMW he was driving collided with a dumper on Atal Setu sea-bridge in Mumbai. The dumper driver also sustained injuries.
The accident occurred on Atal Setu sea-bridge, approximately eight kilometers from the start of the bridge, while the BMW was traveling towards Panvel from Mumbai.
The dumper driver sustained injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The police have taken blood samples from the deceased to determine if he was under the influence of alcohol. They have also registered an FIR in the matter and will file an abated summary report as per legal procedures.
Punit Singh Majra was the son of a real estate agent from Chembur. He had attended a party and was returning home when the accident happened. The BMW he was driving was taken on hire from an online portal.
