A 33-year-old woman, Chanda Mane, was killed when a speeding dumper truck struck her scooter and fled the scene on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) in Mumbai.
The victim was Chanda Mane, a 33-year-old resident of Jogeshwari East who worked at a real estate firm in the Bandra-Kurla Complex area.
The accident occurred near the Vedant petrol pump on the Jogeshwari-Vikhroli Link Road (JVLR) on Friday at around 8:30 pm.
The MIDC police have registered a case under Sections 106(1) (death by negligence), 281 (rash driving) of the Indian Penal Code, and relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act.
Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from the area to identify and apprehend the absconding dumper truck driver.
