Trentar ₹30,000-Cr Hyperscale Data Centre Deal with Maharashtra

By GeoSquare News Desk · Published 2026-10-08

Mumbai: Trentar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) worth approximately ₹30,000 crore with the Maharashtra government for a hyperscale data centre project, one of the largest single digital-infrastructure commitments the state has secured in recent years.

Announced at REIIS 2026 in Mumbai

Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced the pact at the 6th edition of the Real Estate & Infrastructure Investors' Summit (REIIS 2026), held in Mumbai on 3 September, positioning Maharashtra as a magnet for large-scale technology investment.

What the investment means for the state

Hyperscale facilities — large, power-hungry campuses that host cloud and AI workloads — typically need substantial land parcels, robust power supply and fibre connectivity. Such developments tend to lift demand for industrial land, warehousing and commercial property in peripheral belts of Mumbai, Pune and the Mumbai–Nagpur corridor.

The project is expected to generate direct and indirect employment across construction, logistics and support services, while reinforcing Maharashtra's push to deepen its data-centre footprint alongside existing clusters in the Mumbai–Pune region.

Outlook for property buyers and investors

Infrastructure-led projects of this scale often trigger land-price appreciation in surrounding micro-markets, benefiting both industrial developers and long-term landowners. Investors watching Maharashtra's growth corridors may see renewed interest in plots, warehousing parks and commercial assets near proposed data-centre zones.
