DRA and Slate Technologies Partner to Revolutionize Construction in Chennai with AI
Chennai-based real estate developer DRA has announced a strategic collaboration with Slate Technologies Inc. to deploy its AI-driven construction intelligence platform, Slate AI, across project operations. The initiative marks a notable step towards integrating advanced technology into construction execution within the Indian real estate sector.
The deployment is currently underway across DRA’s projects in Chennai, covering approximately 3.3 million sq. ft. of development. The platform supports close to 2,000 on-site workers and over 100 technical professionals, enabling a shift from conventional reporting systems to data-led, real-time execution models.
Slate AI is designed to enhance multiple aspects of construction management, including project planning, quality inspections, site monitoring, procurement processes, workforce productivity, and safety analytics. By linking quality workflows with project schedules, the system enables early identification of issues, faster resolution timelines, and improved coordination across project teams. The integration of predictive analytics also allows developers to anticipate potential delays and mitigate execution risks more effectively.
A key feature of the platform is its real-time multilingual communication capability, which facilitates coordination across India’s diverse construction workforce. This function is expected to improve clarity in on-site communication, reduce errors, and enable more efficient collaboration between teams operating in different languages.
DRA’s management indicated that the adoption of AI-led systems aligns with its broader focus on strengthening execution standards, ensuring timely project delivery, and maintaining quality consistency. The company suggested that embedding intelligent systems into construction processes would support scalability and enhance governance frameworks as project volumes increase.
From the technology provider’s perspective, the collaboration reflects a growing demand for AI-driven solutions in construction, particularly in markets where project complexity and scale are expanding rapidly. Industry insights suggested that traditional construction management systems are increasingly being supplemented by digital platforms that offer real-time insights and decision-making support.
The partnership also signals a broader shift within the real estate sector towards adopting advanced technologies to improve efficiency, transparency, and delivery outcomes, as developers respond to evolving market expectations and operational challenges.
