HYDRAA Reclaims Valuable Land from Real Estate Developers in Khanamet
Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) has taken a significant step in reclaiming government land from unauthorized possession. On Tuesday, April 7, HYDRAA fenced an eight-acre plot that was being claimed by construction companies in the IT corridor of Hyderabad. The estimated value of the land is a staggering Rs 1,200 crore.
In Survey number 55, located in Khanamet village of Serilingampally mandal in Rangareddy district, 4.20 acres of government land were under the control of major real estate companies. Additionally, one Kolanu Sabita, daughter of Kolanu Madhavareddy, had taken possession of another four-acre land, adding to the unauthorized occupation.
On Tuesday, HYDRAA cleared all temporary sheds erected on the government land. Notably, Vasavi Construction Company voluntarily dismantled the roller-compacted concrete (RCC) structure they had set up. According to HYDRAA, the land in Survey number 55 is unassigned and has been placed on the prohibited list by the Rangareddy Collector, officially declaring it as government property.
However, Meenakshi Real Estate Company had claimed the land as its own, and Vasavi Construction Company had set up an RCC plant along with sheds and started construction activities. After receiving a complaint, HYDRAA conducted an on-site inquiry in collaboration with the concerned departmental officials. The agency confirmed the land as government property, erected fencing, and set up boards declaring it as such.
This action by HYDRAA is a significant step towards protecting government assets and ensuring that valuable land is not misused by unauthorized entities. The agency's proactive approach in reclaiming such a large and valuable plot of land sends a strong message to other real estate developers and individuals who might be encroaching on government property.
The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA) plays a crucial role in safeguarding public assets and ensuring that they are used for the benefit of the community. By reclaiming this land, HYDRAA has not only protected government resources but also set a precedent for future actions against unauthorized land occupation.
