MahaRERA Approves Record 405 Housing Projects on Dussehra
Marking an unprecedented festive push, the Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (MahaRERA) approved a record 405 new housing projects on the auspicious occasion of Dussehra. In total, 809 project applications were cleared, which included new registrations, timeline extensions, and corrections to existing projects.
405 new projects and 400 more projects cleared for extension and correction. Out of the 809 approvals, MahaRERA granted registration numbers to 405 new projects, extended timelines for 209, and approved corrections in 195 ongoing projects. Officials said the record approvals were made possible as the MahaRERA staff worked round the clock to process applications before the festival.
Pune city tops the chart. Among the newly approved projects, Pune city topped with 122 new projects. The broader Pune region contributed another 17 projects — 6 from Satara, 4 each from Kolhapur and Sangli, and 3 from Solapur.
Mumbai metropolitan region registers 197 projects. The Mumbai Metropolitan Region, including Greater Mumbai, followed closely with 197 projects. Of these, 63 were from Mumbai city and suburbs, 58 from Thane, 41 from Raigad, 22 from Palghar, 9 from Ratnagiri, and 4 from Sindhudurg.
Approvals across Vidarbha, Khandesh, and Marathwada. Vidarbha accounted for 31 new project approvals, including 20 from Nagpur, 5 from Amravati, 4 from Akola, and 2 from Chandrapur. From the Khandesh region, 29 projects were approved — 23 from Nashik, 5 from Ahilyanagar, and 1 from Dhule. Marathwada saw 9 approvals, comprising 5 in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, 3 in Jalna, and 1 in Latur.
Steady growth over six months. Between April 25 and September 25 this year, MahaRERA cleared a total of 4,940 project proposals across Maharashtra. These included 2,039 new project registrations, 1,748 timeline extensions, and 1,153 corrections — reflecting the growing momentum in the state’s real estate sector.
MahaRERA’s festive commitment. Officials said MahaRERA continues to ensure that only projects meeting all legal, technical, and financial parameters are granted approval. With Diwali approaching, the regulator reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining transparency and efficiency in project clearances while supporting the sector’s festive momentum.
