Nagpur Police Bust ₹2.87 Cr Fraud Syndicate; Property Investor Alert

By GeoSquare News Desk · Published 2026-11-01

Nagpur City Cyber Police have dismantled an interstate banking syndicate involved in a ₹2.87 crore online share trading fraud. Two key operatives were arrested from Mumbai's Borivali area, and the investigation has revealed links to Hong Kong and Dubai.

The Crackdown

In a major operation, the police seized 26 bank account kits, 11 mobile phones and other equipment. This arrest is part of a larger crackdown that saw seven accused arrested in seven days across multiple cities, highlighting the scale of cybercrime in the region.

What This Means for Property Investors

While the fraud was related to share trading, the modus operandi is similar to scams targeting real estate investors. Property transactions involve large sums of money, making them a prime target for cybercriminals. The Nagpur real estate market, which is growing steadily, requires heightened vigilance.

Protecting Your Investment

Buyers should always verify bank details through official channels, avoid sharing personal information over unsecured platforms, and conduct thorough due diligence on developers and agents. Cross-checking payment receipts and property documents can prevent financial loss.

The police action sends a strong message to fraudsters and reassures investors in Nagpur's property market. Staying informed and cautious is the key to safe transactions.
