Sonu Nigam's Father Buys Rs 10 Crore Property in Mumbai’s Madh Island

The Nigam family has added another prestigious address to its Mumbai portfolio. Agam Kumar Nigam, the father of celebrated singer Sonu Nigam, has recently purchased a property in Madh Island for Rs 10 crore. The acquisition, as per property registration documents accessed by Liases Foras, includes a 1,197 square metre plot with an existing structure known as Mango Villa.

The property, located within the Suchak Cooperative Housing Society Limited in Madh Island, comprises a ground-plus-one-floor residential and commercial building. The built-up area includes a 2,329 sq ft ground-plus-first-floor IT structure and a separate 725 sq ft residential construction.

The transaction was officially registered on February 18, 2026. A stamp duty of Rs 50 lakh and a registration fee of Rs 30,000 were paid as part of the deal. The property was purchased from Swapna Kak and Rani Doshi (Verma), also known as Rani Amar Verma. Despite attempts to reach Agam Nigam and the sellers for comment, no responses were received.

Agam Kumar Nigam is not just known as Sonu Nigam’s father; he is a singer and stage performer in his own right. Over the years, he has performed at various cultural programmes and live events, playing a crucial role in shaping his son’s early musical journey. His musical background and influence have undoubtedly contributed to Sonu’s success in the Indian music industry.

Sonu Nigam has also been active in Mumbai’s real estate market. In 2024, he acquired a commercial property in Andheri valued at Rs 7 crore. In 2025, he leased a property in Santacruz East for five years at a total rent exceeding Rs 12.61 crore. These investments reflect the family’s strategic approach to real estate and their deep-rooted connection to Mumbai.

Madh Island, situated in Malad and close to Versova, has emerged as a sought-after residential pocket in recent years. The area has attracted several film and television personalities, including Kartik Aryan, Ronit Roy, Vivek Agnihotri, Sanjay Mishra, and Ayushmann Khurrana. Actors Archana Puran Singh and Parmeet Sethi also own a bungalow in Madh Island.

In the past two years, singer Jubin Nautiyal, actor Sanjay Mishra, and television producer Rajan Shahi have purchased homes in the locality. According to local property brokers, residential rates in the area have surged significantly, with prices touching around Rs 37,000 per sq ft, nearly double what they were a few years ago.

The Nigam family’s latest acquisition in Madh Island not only adds to their real estate portfolio but also underscores the growing popularity of the area among Bollywood personalities and other high-profile individuals. With its strategic location and rising property values, Madh Island is likely to remain a coveted destination for those looking to invest in Mumbai’s real estate market.
